Representation and Image

You are a member of the Chandler High Spiritline. You will need to represent this team on and off campus in a respectful and appropriate manner.

  • Make sure you have appropriate use of social media, speech (around each other, peers, campus, and outside of school), and technology.

  • No gang related activity, language, or representations. No associations to drug or sex.

  • No bullying--verbal and physical aspects. Be careful about your language. Sarcasm can definitely get you in trouble, so be careful in the way that you use it. You may think that you are joking, but others may not take it as such.

  • Dress Code--Make sure that you are following dress code. You are an athlete and will be watched much more closely.

  • Treat others the way you want to be treated. I know that sometimes you may have a bad day, but be careful and do not reflect your bad day in how you treat others. Do not argue with a coach. You may have a respectful conversation in which you disagree, but do not be unkind.

  • When a teacher or coach is speaking to you, please make sure to have your complete attention towards them. This is shown through eye contact (not looking elsewhere) and not folding your arms (which can appear as a sign of being disrespectful even when you don’t mean to be).

  • Communication--you must communicate with the coach. In the Constitution that you signed, it says that you must notify your team coach for any absences or tardies. If your coach contacts you, please ensure that you respond.

  • Be kind, considerate, cooperative, encouraging, respectful, responsible, thoughtful, and supportive.

Grades

You are a student athlete, which means "student" comes first. We highly encourage our athletes to be in the first few rows in their classes actively participating and contributing to their academic content. We do not only want our athletes to be successful on, but also off the field. We expect you to be the role models in your classroom, leading your classmates.

You will be expected to send a screen shot of your grades EVERY week to your coach in a personal message.

If your grades fall to a D or below, you will need to follow these steps.

Athletes with a D in a Class

Even if you have a D because the teacher has not updated grades, you will be expected to attend mandatory tutoring Monday through Thursday.

You will go to the classroom that your coach assigns.

  • Freshman will go to Van Norman (212)

  • JV will go to Van Norman (212)

  • Varsity will go to Van Norman (212)

  • Pom will go to Butenschoen (204)

In order for you to get cleared to not attend tutoring, you must provide proof (screen shot) of your current grades to show that you have improved your grades.
